The style of Albéniz's piano collection Iberia is highly innovative and complex, yet the music is always attractive and accessible to the listener. Albéniz drew on his own Iberian background with its typical influences from Arab-Andalusian music and flamenco. The Argentine pianist Nelson Goerner performs a selection from this Spanish masterpiece together with some of Frédéric Chopins most beautiful and virtuosic works for piano: the Barcarolle, the Berceuse and the Third Scherzo.
