At the height of the political crisis of the 1980s in Peru, Georgina is expecting her first child. Destitute, she responds to an advertisement for a clinic that offers free care to pregnant women. But after giving birth, they refuse to tell her where her baby is. Determined to find her daughter, she enlists the help of journalist Pedro Campos who agrees to investigate.
